여러 국가의 젊은 작가들이 기록한 ‘움직임’의 모임입니다.
일러스트레이션을 기본으로 다양한 매체로 확장하는 국내외 신진 작가들이
애니메이션이라는 형식을 시도하고 실험한 결과를 전시합니다.
기술의 발전은 애니메이션을 번창 시켰지만
동시에 개인이 시도하기에 다소 멀게 느껴지게도 했습니다.
이 전시에서는 여전히 움직임을 찾고 구현하고자 하는 작가의 노력들을 소개하며
최초에 애니메이션을 만들어 냈던 솔직한 태도를 보이고자 합니다.
Movement is what connects the pieces presented in this show.
By collaboration of new-young artists from various countries,
We are trying to reintroduce pure and experimental expression of movement caught by artists’ eyes.
Sleek and high-tech animation is primary, but we need a studio system with assets.
For a young artist who desires to create movement, sometimes it gives fear to challenge the form.
But that’s not how it all began.
Animation started with an analog technique such as rotoscoping,
and going back to the basics,
It gave freedom to the artists to play around with their movements.
SoIntuitive and Honest.
Even though 2020 was a hazard, we still there, moving, as who we are, doing art.
Separation seems unavoidable for now.
But as in this show, we will be connected soon again.

Attractive movements are collected by adding imagination to mundane daily life.
By the intuition of the arstist, tiny pieces are tied together into dreamy animations through experiments.

고양이를 키우기 시작하면서, 불현듯 찾아오는 이별에 대한 생각을 피할 수 없게 되었다.
떠나간 이들을 다시 만날 수는 없을까? 천문학자와 고양이의 이야기를 통해 다가올 작별에 미리 대비하고 싶었다.
As I live with my cat, it's hard to get rid of thinking of saying goodbye, eventually. Can we meet the left ones again? Trhrough this story about a cat and an astronomer, I wanted to be prepared for the farewell.

그 행복의 순간이 내가 지금 어디에 있는지를 보여준다.
그런데 그 강렬한 행복이 나를 의심하게 한다. 혹시 환상은 아닐까?
The happiness from a birthday cake, people clapping and cheering.
Those gleam of pleasure from my daily life points out where I’m standing now.
This beautiful life made me wonder if I am dreaming now. Which part is reality or illusion then?

사람의 형성에 대한 영상. 섬세하고 유연한 붓질의 질감을 사람의 피부 질감에 대입하여 표현했습니다. 신축하는 동작 묘사를 통해서 세상에서 사람이 어떻게 다뤄지는지, 그리고 다양한 자연 환경으로는 인간이 성장하려는 시도를 보여줍니다. 경험들은 우리에게 흔적을 남기고, 이것은 우리 모두에게 일어납니다. 이 영상은 세상이 우리를 어떻게 다루는 것과 무관하게 우리가 성장할 것이라는 메세지를 담고 있습니다.
This is an art film presenting human formation. Building delicate, flexible brushstrokes texture refer to human's skin—the act of Stretchy describing how human being treated by the world. It is revealing the trial of growing up. The experience left marks and made who you are. The human figure represents everyone, so the film names as 'We are one'.

Alone
이 프로젝트는 인간의 가장 기본적인 상태를 탐구하고자 합니다 - 바로 '혼자'입니다. '외로움'은 우리가 생에서 만나는 가장 원초적인 상태입니다. 이 작품은 그래서 홀로 있는 경험이 우리에게 진정으로 의미하는 바를 탐구합니다. 가장 사적인 순간으로서의 '홀로'는 한 장면 장면을 모두 손으로 그렸으며 그 과정과 노동 자체가 하나의 고독이었습니다.
This project aims to explore the basic state of human existence - solitude. It is suggested that ‘aloneness’ is the most primitive state we encounter in life. The core focus of this work, therefore, is to consider what it really means to be alone in ones own experience, and explore those private moments of oneness. ‘Alone’ is an experimental film, drawn and painted frame by frame which itself was a labour of solitude.

폴라 카프레는 아일랜드 출신의 비주얼 아티스트이자 디자이너로서 현지는 스코트 랜드에서 활동하고 있습니다. DJCAD에서 일러스트레이션의 학위를 최우수로 받 았으며 런던 소재의 UAL에서 일러스트레이션 및 비주얼 미디어의 석사과정을 진행 중입니다. 'Pronouncing Poland'라는 작품을 통해서 'The Creative Edinburgh'와 'Charity London'에서 수상한 바가 있으며 전통적인 채색 기법과 디지털 편집을 혼 합하여 작업하고 있습니다. 스코트랜드 정부, Livingston Designer Outlet 그리고 Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble 등의 클라이언트 일을 마친 바 있습니다.
Paula Caffrey is a visual artist and designer from Ireland and is currently based in Scotland. She has a bachelor of Design degree in illustration with first class honours from DJCAD and is currently studying for a Master of Arts degree in Illustration and visual media at UAL, London. She was awarded a print futures award from the printing Charity London and The Creative Edinburgh award for her illustrated book ‘Pronouncing Poland’. Her work currently explores themes of solitude, and combines traditional practices of drawing and painting with digital applications. Clients include Scottish Government, Livingston Designer Outlet and Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble.

코로나로 집에 혼자 오래 머물며 포스트-인터넷 아트를 연구하며 가능성을 탐구하기로 했다. 인터넷에서 '죽음'이라는 사건은 사라지지 않고, 영원히 데이터로 남아있는 것을 보며 새로운 방식의 추모가 만들어졌음에 주목했다. 개인화, 현대화 등의 경향에도 불구하고 추모의 전통은 사라지지 않고 있다. 다만 그들의 형식과 맥락은 조금씩 변하고 이었다. 스스로의 작가 언어를 통해서 추모식을 새로이 설계해 보았다.
During the period restricted by the epidemic, I decided to study post-Internet art and practice to explore more possibilities. The internet is offering a new way of mourning, giving eternal life to the dead. It is clear that in spite of secularisation, modernity, and individualisation, rituals are not disappearing, they are just changing forms and adapting to new contexts. I want to explore a new way of the memorial ceremony. Use my own art language to redesign the farewell ceremony.

Currently working based on London, a graphic designer studying in illustration. Previously graduated in product design. Nami explains that xperiences makes her to prefer experimental multidisciplinary work.
